Aika ip ban

Starting on april 8th 2010 only north america can play g-potato's version of aika on-line

when they ban anyone from an IP from logging in D:
it was more like a region ban though for anyone outside of North America.

why only north america?

Due to contract g-potatoe has signed with developers of Aika game.
This version of game is meant only for North America and any other way g-potatoe could be sued for not following contract.
So they banned all new accounts not origined from NA and i think
in future they will bann all not NA accounts

btw gPotato still says that there's a possibility about banning current accounts :/ decision will be announced on April 30th. Guild chat has been really dead. Who mass recruited all the people? :[

Ya it is still high risk playing game with not NA ip i am ready to that too
i downloaded Perfect World and there we can open new branch if Aika
banns me .
Most recruited gamerred some of them me too , but when ip bann was announced most quited game so now guild chat is me , Troye and Shuru.

sounds like ya may be in a mess of crap lol:) kinda makes me glad i dont play. so i get that it means they ban the ip but what is the ip? is it like a url or like cookies?

ip is the address that is like for example 192.168.5.60 and such that if you dont have that you arent connected to a network/internet or nothing pretty much a pc which all pc has it even the ones without a network has the loopback address which is 127.0.0.1

k well without a ip you wont be able to connect anywhere think of it as a nintendo a nintendo doesnt have ip so it only gots single console support on pc its rather similar without a ip you wont be able to goto this forum/any webpage/download anything/Play most games because most uses internet activation.

I don't play, and really have interest in playing but for those wanting to stay together there is the possibility to counter act the ip ban.

Someone will have to set up a server, I have a copy of MS Server 2000 I will let you download (yes I have a legal key, not pirated software)and set up either a VPN(virtual private network) or maybe even just a proxy server would work, but I doubt it.

Basically what you would do for proxy server/VPN is type in the web address ie. 79.22.11.189 and then you will connect to the server use a name and pass to enter and use that server(in NA of course) to route you to places. Sorry been awhile since I set up a server environment so I may be wrong. Small amount of me reading a few things refresh me.

Requirements will be a dedicated ip. Costs a fair amount of $$$ and also a really good PC like mine to handle the traffic. Depending on how many play in your clan a freakin really good server may be needed.

Think about it and if you want I will help set you up. Also if there really is interest I will research what is needed for it to happen. BTW I have a associate degree in Computer science.
